Alright, I don't like to rant very often, but I think this one deserves it. I just read a very distressing news article which describes how a man was trampled to death right after a wal-mart store opened yesterday morning. Apparently, he was knocked down, and the throngs of people didnt seem to care and continued to mob their way into the store. When it was made known that a man was in danger, officials tried to close the store, but the mobs became irate, refused to stop, and kept flooding in.
How corrupt are we as a society when a man's life means less then grabbing an item on sale? Even if the mob didnt know what was going on at the time, they should have stopped when the loudspeakers were telling them to stop because a man was being trampled. Not only is that corrupt, but to make matters worse, this mob was trampling employees who were attempting to save the man. Here's the link I have for the article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081129/ap_on_re_us/wal_mart_death;_ylt=Av9pEqtukHohEWY0Hrh2yOkDW7oF
This isn't just a problem in New York that no one needs to worry about way over here. How many of us rushed into a store the second the doors opened on black Friday? Not everyone is guilty, and I do not intend to target any specfic individuals. I mean to write this to whoever may come across my blog. All I can say is that I am deeply disgusted with how our society values their "things" over the people around them. Today, I am no where near proud to be an American.

Halloween and such
Before Halloween, we had a mini family reunion. Joseph, Ashley, and Shineah all came to my house for food and fun. Before Joseph and Ashley came, Daniel and Shineah had one of their extremely intense Boggle matches. (As always, Shineah blew Daniel and I out of the water. Daniel did really good for himself, and I was just happy to get a consecutive score of "1")
Then Halloween came! We went to a ward Halloween party together. Daniel threw his costume together from stuff he found in the house. The paint is suppossed to be temporary hair dye I got for either Halloween or a prank last year, he used a face mask to make his hair grey, and already had firefighter stuff. The sad thing is that there are a couple babies at church who LOVE him. (It's really funny. They get all excited and start laughing when they see him in Sacrament.) Anyway, when they saw him, they started screaming in absolute terror! My poor husband didn't get to play with his friends that night.
I was wearing spandexy pants, put shorts on over them, and Daniel gave me an old shirt which we cut up into a mask and cape. We tried putting an orange "S" for "Super Stephanie" on my shirt with crepe paper. Not the best plan. Even without my S, I thought I looked really cool until Buzz Lightyear showed up at the party. I was very showed up.
These are our good friends Kevin and Christy. They got married the day after us in the same temple, and were our next door neighbors for a while. They're just awesome.

Blog the First!
Hey all!
Blogging looks fun, so I thought I'd start a blog for Daniel and I.
As of today, we've been married a whole six months! Whoo hoo for us!
